First minimum data set recommendation for museums and collections published

Public administration

The digitisation of the cultural scene is continuing apace. Many museums and exhibitions are already digitising their collections. However, it is important to adhere to certain standards. The Minimal Dataset Working Group has addressed precisely this issue and has now published the first version of the Minimal Dataset Recommendation: https://wiki.deutsche-digitale-bibliothek.de/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=120422678

The online handout provides all those responsible for museums and collections with all the information on the relevant international standards for recording and publishing object information on the web. At the same time, the aim is to raise awareness of data quality and the FAIR and CARE principles.

Numerous institutions and services were consulted in advance, including robotron*Daphne's product management team. Of course, the robotron*Daphne museum management system offers all the prerequisites for implementing the standards of the minimum data set recommendation. In addition, we offer you numerous additional functionalities for recording and categorising data and publishing it on the web.

We look forward to continuing our involvement in the field of Open Science/Open Access in the future and to actively participating in the development of methods and interfaces.
