New Features for More Efficient Collection Management

With the latest robotron*Daphne 2.11 release, users benefit from numerous technical enhancements and new features designed to support their daily work with the collection management system.

One of the key improvements concerns the management of places and dates. A new integrated dialog now provides direct access to the OpenStreetMap service Nominatim, allowing users to conveniently search for and import addresses, including geographic coordinates. At the same time, the search functionality has been expanded: in addition to system addresses, individual address components can now be searched directly. Address records can also be edited, merged, or deleted. Furthermore, users can create additional address types beyond the existing system values such as Current Address, Custom Address, and Historical Address, including support for Linked Open Data (LOD) integration.

The literature management module has also been enhanced. The keyword tagging functionality previously available for object records can now be used for literature records as well. This allows literature references to be tagged with keywords and subsequently searched and analyzed based on these classifications. The new functionality is particularly useful for managing and exploring large literature collections.

With these enhancements, robotron*Daphne 2.11 continues to support museums and collection-holding institutions in documenting, organizing, and researching their collections more efficiently.
